Who We Are

Ubuntu Art Residency is an interdisciplinary space in Masindi, Uganda. Our mission is to bridge the gap between global artistic practice and local ecological knowledge.

Following an initial development phase launched in 2024, we are dedicating 2026 to pilot residencies and partnerships ahead of our full 2027 global launch. We foster a cross-pollination of ideas rooted in the Ugandan landscape, welcoming a diverse range of practitioners—from visual artists and curators to writers and creators

We are currently welcoming inquiries for self-funded pilot residencies for 2026 and for institutional collaborations. For all other artists, please join our list below so we can send you the official 2027 Open Call guidelines when we release them.
